YUBA CITY --Livestock exhibits, home arts, carnival rides and entertainment (including the Nelsons on Thursday) are highlights of the Yuba-Sutter Fair, Wednesday through next Sunday. 5:30 p.m.-midnight Wednesday-Thursday; 1 p.m.-midnight Friday-Sunday. BENICIA --This Bay Area town--and onetime state capital--hosts the Waterfront Festival next weekend, July 30-Aug. 1, with powerboat races (racing trials on Saturday, finals at 1 p.m. Sunday), entertainment (including Get Back Beatlemania), micro-beer and wine tasting, children's rides, food and arts and crafts. 5-10 p.m. Friday; 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Saturday; 11 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday. SAN JOSE --The 55th annual Santa Clara County Fair will include food, rides, entertainment and junior livestock competitions, July 30-Aug. 8. 2-11 p.m. weekdays; 11 a.m.-11 p.m. weekends. Fairgrounds, Tully Road and U.S. 101. $8; $5 seniors and ages 6-12. $5 parking. (408) 494- 3247.

SAN DIEGO --For another taste of Latin America, visit the historic Bazaar del Mundo in Old Town during the Latin American Festival, Aug. 6-8. There will be food booths, arts and crafts and entertainment. You can also visit the historic buildings of Old Town State Historic Park. 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday-Saturday; 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday. Free.
