FOCUS: ORANGE COUNTY COMMUNITY NEWS

Yorba Linda

July 28, 1999|Jasmine Lee, (949) 764-4331

The Planning Commission will discuss how the city can meet the demand to provide community groups more banner space to announce events at tonight's meeting. Installing banner poles along Yorba Linda Boulevard or putting a marquee sign at Imperial Highway and Casa Loma Avenue are options, city officials said. A ladder sign, which can hold several different signs stacked like ladder rungs, is another idea.

For years, local nonprofit organizations have been complaining that the city has not provided adequate space to the groups to advertise meetings, parties or special events. But city officials said they have been discussing how to solve the problem for a year. The meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. at City Hall, 4845 Casa Loma Ave.
