While Harrison Ford is undeniably a reliable box-office heavyweight, it was not he who made Mace Neufeld's "The Hunt for Red October," in which he did not appear, an off-season mega-hit ("Unconventional War of Nerves," by Robert W. Welkos, June 13).
That credit goes to a stellar Alec Baldwin, with indispensable teamwork from Sean Connery, James Earl Jones and Sam Neill.
