Figueroa Homers in Defeat

Luis Figueroa hit a home run, his third of the season, for the Lancaster JetHawks in a 9-2 loss to the host Stockton Ports on Friday night.

All of Figueroa's home runs this season have come against the Ports. Shawn McCorkle had four hits for the JetHawks (8-14).

Right-hander Brandon Knight (Buena, Ventura College) allowed five hits and two runs to improve to 3-0 and pace Oklahoma (Rangers) past New Orleans. Right-hander Bob Scanlan (Harvard-Westlake) dropped to 3-2 with New Orleans (Astros).

Double A--Right-hander Javier Delahoya (Grant) is 4-0 with Bowie (Orioles) after giving up five hits and two runs and striking out six in seven innings in a 5-3 victory over Akron.

Class A--First baseman Ryan Hankins (Simi Valley) hit two doubles for Burlington (White Sox) in a 3-2 victory over West Michigan. . . . Shortstop Jack Wilson (Thousand Oaks, Oxnard College) had three hits and designated hitter Darren Dyt (Cal State Northridge) had two hits and two runs batted in to help Peoria (Cardinals) beat Wisconsin, 12-2. . . . Catcher Tom McGee (Cal Lutheran) hit a home run and a triple for Delmarva (Orioles).
