A judge cleared former Angel Tony Phillips of felony drug charges Monday, ending a story that started two years ago.
Anaheim police arrested Phillips after discovering him in a Katella Avenue hotel room with $30 worth of cocaine and a pipe used to smoke it. Under a program for first-time offenders, Phillips pleaded guilty to one count of felony cocaine possession, with the charge subject to dismissal if he completed drug counseling and subsequently stayed drug-free for one year.
