Charlotte Hornet guard Eddie Jones had surgery to repair injuries he suffered when his hand hit the rim during an attempted shot block last month.

A surgeon repaired a flexor tendon, an artery and a nerve in Jones' right hand, the team said in a statement.

Jones' fingers will be in a splint for six weeks and he'll undergo an additional six weeks of rehabilitation. He is expected to be ready for training camp next season.

The injury occurred in the fourth quarter of an April 19 game at New Jersey. Jones sat out the next three games.

Jones played 41 minutes and scored 21 points Wednesday in Charlotte's season finale at Boston.

Jones came to Charlotte from the Lakers in a March 10 trade that also included center Elden Campbell for Glen Rice and J.R. Reid. Jones led the Hornets with a 15.6 scoring average.
