Mothers Will Have Their Day in Sunday Sermons Too

Mother's Day Services

Mother's Day services featuring the Rev. Jerry Tankersley and focusing on the Lord's Prayer will take place at 9 and 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Laguna Presbyterian Church. The kid's choir and Senior Bells will perform. There will be Sunday school and nursery care. The church is at 415 Forest Ave., Laguna Beach. (949) 494-7555.

Ward Morehouse, director of the New York Center for Corporations, Law and Democracy, will speak on "Mothers and Family Values in an Age of Corporate Rule: A Challenge to Liberal Religions" at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Unitarian Church of Orange County. The middle and senior high youth groups of Orange Coast Unitarian Universalist Church will lead a Mother's Day celebration during the 10:30 a.m. service. Child care and youth religious education will be provided. The church is at 1259 Victoria St., Costa Mesa. (949) 646-4652.

The Rev. Chris Schriner will speak on "Of Mothers, Goddesses and the Cosmic Cradle" at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Laguna Beach. The talk will reflect on human mothers, deity mother myths and our relationship with Mother Earth. A children's program will take place during the service. Entertainer Art Linkletter and Christian recording artist Twila Paris will be the pulpit guests during the 9:30 and 11 a.m. Mother's Day Sunday services at the Crystal Cathedral. The Rev. Robert H. Performances

The adult and children's choirs of St. Irenaeus Church will present their annual "Music of the Americas--A Spring Celebration" concert at 8 p.m. this evening. The church is at 5201 Evergreen Ave., Cypress. (714) 821-5531.

The King's Kids Children's Choir will perform its Sunday Night in Samsvick concert at 6 p.m. Sunday at Calvary Church of Santa Ana. Pastor John Sherman will discuss "The Individuals God Uses." Luncheons, festivals and more

The Santa Ana/Tustin Christian Women's Club will present its "May Ole"' luncheon from 11:45 a.m. to 1:45 p.m. Friday at the Tustin Ranch Golf Clubhouse. St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church will hold its annual Greek Festival from 5 to 10 p.m. Friday and from noon to 10 p.m. next Saturday and Sunday.
