Parks and recreation commissioners Monday decided to continue evaluating the possibility of outfitting the Alicia Parkway skate and soccer park with artificial turf, calling it a perfect setting for fake grass. "It's a new field not near any houses, so it can be used late," said Ken Montgomery, director of public works and city engineer. "The commission concluded it should seriously look into putting artificial turf there." But further study is needed before the commission can make a recommendation to the City Council, Montgomery said.
