Japanese American National Museum needs volunteers to lead tours and assist in the office, with visitors and with public programs. Training is provided. Japanese- and Spanish-speakers are especially needed. Information: Mike Moreno, (213) 830-5645.

* Meet Each Need With Dignity needs people for its annual Serv-a-thon on June 5 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Volunteers will fit needy children with new shoes, provide medical and dental screenings, pack and distribute bags of food, supervise youth activities and assist with computer demonstrations. * Executive Service Corps of Southern California needs retired Los Angeles-area executives to provide expertise to nonprofit organizations. Areas include fund-raising, marketing and operating efficiency. Information: Barrie Segall, (213) 381-2891.

* Volunteer Vital English needs volunteers to help non-English-speaking adults, individuals or small groups learn conversational English. * Metropolitan Community Resource Center, a nonprofit public benefit corporation dedicated to increasing people's awareness of community services in Los Angeles County, needs volunteers to sit on its board for at least one year and to spend 24 hours a year supporting projects that assist caregivers in finding precise information on community services.
