Where you can enjoy the sun and a band with a hot dog and beer in hand . . .

* The Lighthouse Cafe. Like the Energizer bunny, this seaside music club keeps going and going. Enjoy the live music Sunday afternoons from the patio on the Pier Plaza or from a bar stool indoors. Music begins at 11:30 a.m. and continues till last call. 30 Pier Ave., Hermosa Beach. (310) 376-9833. 21 and older. Free on weeknights; $5 cover on weekends. Full menu.

* Boathouse. The Santa Monica Pier's oldest restaurant turns up the music on weekends with Top 40 and classic rock bands playing from 2 to 10 p.m. Salsa Sundays (including lessons) are DJ'd on the indoor dance floor next to the outdoor patio. 301 Santa Monica Pier, Santa Monica. * Chillers. Can't beat the view. Located in King Harbor Marina, this oceanside night club brings out the best of summer with live music on the patio beginning at 3 p.m. and a slew of bands playing inside at 7 p.m. 239 N. * Moonshadows. While you're coasting, swing by this old Malibu haunt for a taste of the true Southern California. Live bands play on the oceanfront deck from 2 to 6 p.m. while scenesters kick back with brews. 20356 Pacific Coast Highway, Malibu. (310) 456-3010. All ages. No cover. Full menu.

* Aysia 101. Escape to a tropical paradise with Island Sundays. This Pan-Asian restaurant and night club features a live steel drum band on its waterfront deck, serves up tropical drinks and turns on its wood-fired grill from noon to 8 p.m. 2901 W. * Al's Bar. This comfy, graffiti-covered joint likes to get its crowd in the groove for summer with Sunday barbecues in the alley at 6 p.m. After you woof a hot dog or turkey burger check out the tunes inside. 305 S.
