St. Bonaventure 7, Kilpatrick 3--Freshman Matt White's two-run single in the third broke open a close game at St. Bonaventure and the Seraphs advanced to the semifinals for the second consecutive season.

Brandon Mascorro of St. Bonaventure (14-11) had two hits, including his 10th double, to break the school's single-season record.

Gil Infante (6-3) scattered six hits, struck out five and allowed one earned run. David Garza also had two hits for the Seraphs.

Lancaster Desert Christian 8, Linfield 5--Jimmy Esposito had a three-run home run and a run-scoring single for Lancaster Desert Christian (24-1) at Linfield.

Phillip Parker contributed a three-run home run to the victory over the defending Division V champions, who had won six titles in eight years.

Lancaster Desert Christian will face L.A. Baptist in the semifinals.

L.A. Baptist 7, Arrowhead Christian 6--John Hubbard singled in the winning run in the bottom of the eighth and the Knights (17-6) advanced to the semifinals.

L.A. Baptist sent the game into extra innings on Daniel Acuna's seventh-inning, run-scoring double. Andrew Petersen tied the game, 6-6, with a run-scoring single in the eighth.

Petersen, a sophomore, finished with four hits. Hubbard and Ricky Wendt each added two hits.


Grace Brethren 10, Cornerstone Christian 0--Tim Thompson pitched a one-hitter and struck out seven for the Lancers (19-3) in a quarterfinal game that was called after five innings because of the 10-run rule at Grace Brethren.

Grace Brethren pounded Cornerstone Christian starter Josh Miller for 12 hits, including six runs in the first three innings.

Chris Delaplane of Grace Brethren had three hits and three runs batted in. Greg Reynolds added two hits.

Cornerstone Christian committed six errors.
