The city is preparing documents in response to a public records request filed last week by Yorba Linda residents who want to challenge the approval of an environmental impact report for the Imperial Highway widening project.

Mark Abramowitz, who is spearheading efforts to force the city to conduct another environmental assessment, said Tuesday that the city's report does not meet state standards or answer the community's concerns. "They committed to an EIR, then all of a sudden, you have an EIR come out and it is a complete whitewash," Abramowitz said.

Interim City Manager Daniel Miller said the city completed the EIR correctly. The city is in the process of answering the public records request, he said.
