Reward Offered for Leads in Mail Carrier Robberies

LOS ANGELES — The U.S. Postal Service on Wednesday announced a $50,000 reward leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the armed robberies of six Los Angeles County letter carriers.

The robberies occurred during the past week, said postal inspectors, who have joined Los Angeles Police Department detectives to conduct a joint investigation.

"It is believed the same group committed all six armed robberies," officials said.

The series of robberies, which began Oct. 1, were in Los Angeles, Gardena, North Long Beach and Compton.
