The City Council recently authorized the removal of railroad crossings at some intersections and the beginning of construction and street improvements to reduce accident rates.

The unanimous vote will allow the director of public works to enter into agreement with Union Pacific Railroad Co. to remove railroad tracks, resurface the roads and add trees at Holder, Walker, Moody and Valley View streets, and Orange, Lincoln and Crescent avenues.
