LOS ANGELES — An attorney who helped defend O.J. Simpson against double murder charges was appointed Thursday to the legal team of Sara Jane Olson, alleged former Symbionese Liberation Army member.
Through her law firm, criminal defense lawyer Shawn Chapman confirmed her appointment to the team as co-counsel.
Chapman is expected to be paid at taxpayer expense because Olson does not have enough money to pay for attorneys. If Olson succeeds in raising funds for her defense, she must repay the county.
