A man was arrested Friday after shooting his 17-year-old son in the foot during an argument, police said.
Michael Dorsey, 42, was booked at Van Nuys Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon in the 9 a.m. incident, Los Angeles Police Sgt. Mark Aragon said.
Dorsey and his son had been having an "ongoing argument" in their home in the 8900 block of Greenbush Avenue before the shooting, police said.
"They had some kind of physical altercation, and then Daddy put a round in [his son's] foot," Aragon said.
"It's not the form of discipline I would choose."
The son, whom police declined to identify, was treated and released Friday from Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Panorama City.
