The Web offers a range of real estate-related information just a click away, but the Internet isn't close to replacing real estate agents, according to a recent survey by Coldwell Banker Real Estate Corp.
More than 1,000 people participated in the survey, which found that consumers are doing a lot of research online but will still use agents and brokers.
The study also found that 85% of respondents liked the Web's ability to provide fast, quality home listings, and 71% thought the Web has the potential to match them with the right home.
Only 10% were very comfortable doing business with companies that exist just on the Web. Customers said the most important service was having responsive sales agents act as advisors. About 89% said they wouldn't bid online for a home without making an in-person visit.
