Placentia

August 01, 2000|Raul Gallegos, (714) 520-2512

The Placentia-Yorba Linda School District has hired Doug Lovik, a consultant who will put together a list of land sites on which the district could build additional schools.

Lovik was hired by the school district for $20,000 and began the process of compiling a list of sites two weeks ago.

He will seek out the sites and then talk to the planning commissions of each of the cities served by the school district. Lovik will then present the sites to the local board. Finally, he will notify the local representative of the State Department of Education and seek that person's approval on any chosen sites. Negotiations will then begin with property owners and the school district.

According to Lovik, compiling the list probably will take him until December.
