Though Everlast has just finished "Eat at Whitey's," the follow-up to his hit "Whitey Ford Sings the Blues" album and "Turn Your Lights On" collaboration with Carlos Santana, the L.A. rapper-rocker is talking with his former mates in the rap trio House of Pain about a reunion project. It won't take place, though, until Everlast finishes touring behind the new album, probably sometime next year. . . .

Paul Simon sings a duet and his wife, Edie Brickell, sings background on a song by yoga-teacher-to-the-stars Danny Paradise, who makes his album debut as a singer-songwriter with "River of the Soul," due Sept. 26. Sting, another longtime student, also makes a guest appearance on the album, much of which was recorded in Nepal and Egypt with local musicians. . . .

Boston band Letters to Cleo is on hiatus, but singer Kay Hanley is busy in the world of animation, writing and singing songs for "Generation O," an upcoming WB network TV series about a fictional 8-year-old pop star. Hanley's also got the singing role for the lead character of the "Josie and the Pussycats" animated film feature.
