* Cal State Northridge Helpline, which provides crisis intervention to residents of the San Fernando Valley and greater Los Angeles, is seeking volunteers for a fall training class. The help line provides crisis intervention, referrals, information and support for callers experiencing domestic abuse, addiction, employment problems, loneliness and depression, or other emotional distress. * American Red Cross of Greater Los Angeles is seeking volunteers to provide bookkeeping services weekdays. Information: Jessie Thompson, (213) 739-5246.

* Ride On Therapeutic Horsemanship, a Chatsworth organization that offers horseback riding to the disabled, needs volunteers to groom and saddle horses and help riders. Training is provided. Information: (818) 700-2971.
