Yorba Linda

August 07, 2000|Deepa Bharath, (714) 520-2513

Mayor Ken Ryan said last week that he is optimistic about resolving the sound wall issue with Anaheim. The 12,900-foot-long steel wall being built by Anaheim to protect Anaheim Hills residents from the noise of trains will be constructed along the railroad right of way from Imperial Highway to Weir Canyon Road.

Yorba Linda residents, council members and city officials had expressed concerns about the wall, saying that it would be an eyesore, and might also bounce off the noise to the other side. Also, Anaheim has not sought permission from Yorba Linda to build the wall, which will stand a foot within Yorba Linda city limits.
