There will be a Girls Hope celebration ceremony honoring the National Assn. of Women in Construction from 5 to 7 p.m. Aug. 17 at 1310 Kensington St.

Sponsored by HomeAid Orange County and Girls Hope/Boys Hope, the event will honor all who contributed to the renovation of Girls Hope.

Girls Hope provides housing for girls ages 10 to 18 who may be hurt or at risk. Girls Hope graduates, who have completed the program and will be entering college in the fall, will be there for interviews and personal testimonies.
