The city is on the verge of an arboreal make-over, putting the final touches on an updated master plan for the types of trees to be planted along local streets.

City officials began discussing an update of the 20-year-old master plan for trees at a study session before last week's regular City Council meeting. A comprehensive plan should be completed in the next few months.

According to Chris Becker, director of public works, the move comes in response to residents' calls for the planting of new trees around the city.
