Swimmer Drowns in Littlerock Reservoir

PALMDALE — A young man drowned Friday in Littlerock Reservoir while swimming with friends, authorities said.

The 23-year-old man's friends reported him missing about 4:45 p.m. when he did not return to shore, said Sgt. Brian Jones of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Palmdale station.

It took almost two hours to find the body.

After a helicopter search proved fruitless, a Sheriff's Department jdive team finally found the man dead about 6:30 p.m. Authorities did not confirm his identity Friday night.
