Outfielder Reggie Abercrombie and pitcher Ricardo Rodriguez, who both play for Class-A Great Falls, were named the Dodger organization's player and pitcher of the month for July.
Abercrombie, a 23rd-round pick in 1999, hit .331 with two homers, 20 runs batted in, 20 runs and 20 stolen bases in July.
The right-handed Rodriguez, who was the Pioneer League's player of the week the first week of July, was 4-2 with a 2.75 earned-run average and 47 strikeouts during the month. He leads the league with seven victories and 88 strikeouts and has a 2.22 ERA.
Shawn Gilbert has been on a tear of late, batting .462 in his last 11 games with triple-A Albuquerque. He has five homers and 15 runs batted in during that time. Gilbert, who homered four times in a three-game span last week, has played every position for the Dukes this season except third base and catcher. In his lone appearance as a pitcher April 12, Gilbert went one scoreless inning, struck out two and earned a save.
