All these events will be happening from 5 to 8 p.m. PDT. Routine convention business will take place from 1 to 5 p.m. Each night will feature one or two "American dialogues," talk-show formatted-discussions.

TODAY

Theme: Al Gore: The Principled Fighter

Tribute: Caregivers

Panel participants: Jose Torres, an organ recipient; Doug Bouldin, a family nurse practitioner from Troy, Mo.; Betty Dizik, a Medicare recipient; Evelynn Alvarado, a mother trying to get health insurance for her children; Dawn Anna and Carole Price, who lost children to gun violence; Jodie Gaines Johnson, a sexual assault victim; Dennis and Judy Shepard, whose son Matthew was killed in an anti-homosexual attack; and Renee Mullis, whose father was murdered.

Speakers: Gov. Gray Davis, Rep. Richard A. Gephardt of Missouri, actor Jimmy Smits, vice presidential nominee Joseph I. Lieberman; Gore's daughter Karenna Gore Schiff.

THURSDAY
