* Crime news Web site APBnews.com said it has been deserted by a prospective buyer, leaving its assets to be auctioned by the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in New York. SafetyTips.com, a Web site specializing in safety consulting and training, had agreed to buy New York-based APBnews for $950,000, but withdrew from the agreement. Spokesman Joe Krakoviak said APBnews believed that Waltham, Mass.-based SafetyTips' withdrawal was a violation of their contract. APBnews, founded in 1998, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection last month.
