Geffen Playhouse in Westwood Village needs volunteer ushers for the 2000-2001 season. No experience is necessary. Volunteers will get to see "Dinner With Friends," "The Weir" and three other productions free. Information: (310) 208-6500, Ext. 115.

* Adamson House, a historic site on Malibu Beach, begins docent training Sept. 11. Trained docents will offer tours, greet the public or work in the gift shop. Training is in six sessions. Information: (310) 456-8432.

* Travelers Aid Society of Los Angeles needs volunteers to assist travelers at Los Angeles International Airport and Union Station with directions, accommodation, transportation and sightseeing information. Training begins the week of Sept. 11. Information: Christine Okinaga, (310) 646-2270.
