Presidents Day Closings

Today is Presidents Day, created to celebrate the birthdays of Presidents George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.

* Mail: All post offices will be closed and only Express Mail will be delivered.

* Banks: Most banks and savings and loan institutions will be closed.

* Courts: All courts will be closed.

* Schools: Most public schools in Ventura County will be closed.

* Government: All federal, state, county and municipal offices, except those providing emergency services, will be closed.

* Transportation: Buses and Metrolink trains will follow daily schedules.

* Trash: All trash collection agencies, with the exception of Oxnard's, will maintain regular pickup schedules. In Oxnard, each day's pickup will be delayed one day for the holiday week.
