Fourth of July Events

Six Flags Magic Mountain, 26101 Magic Mountain Parkway, hosts its annual "Strictly USA" celebration from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., with fireworks, live music and dancing. The events are included with park admission, which ranges from $20.50 to $40. Park guests may also pay $8.95 to join the "Great American Picnic" from 5 to 8 p.m. Picnic includes all-you-can-eat chicken dinner, face painting, games and entertainment and VIP seating for the 9:30 p.m. fireworks show. Valley Glen

Singer Cuba Gooding Sr. headlines the fourth annual free Fourth of July event at Valley College, 5800 Fulton Ave. Gooding was a member of the Motown group Main Ingredient that was perhaps most famous for its chart-topping rendition of "Everybody Plays the Fool." The 3-10 p.m. celebration will also feature patriotic music by the Tony MacLaren Band, food booths and a fireworks display starting at 9:30 p.m. In keeping with the theme, "Music for Our Children," guests are asked to donate a new or used musical instrument. The event benefits Artists Resources & Theatre Society, which is dedicated to promoting education in the arts. Information: (818) 786-2886.

Valley Village

A fife player and a drummer in period dress will lead the Valley Village Homeowners Assn.'s seventh annual Fourth of July parade, beginning at 10 a.m. at Colfax Avenue Elementary School, 11724 Addison St., and ending at Valley Village Park on Westpark Drive between Magnolia Boulevard and Riverside Drive.
