Warning signs remain posted at a 300-foot stretch of Huntington State Beach following an increase in bacteria levels.

Signs cautioning high levels of enterococcus have been posted since Friday at the state beach near Magnolia Street, said Monica Mazur, an environmental health specialist with the Orange County Health Care Agency.

Enterococcus is a microscopic bacteria that might indicate the presence of other disease-producing organisms.

The agency is conducting bacteria tests on a daily basis with the exception of Friday and Sunday.
