Grades are climbing at Esperanza High School. Of the school's 3,066 students, 1,594--about 52%--earned a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher this year. Of those, 502 were straight-A students or better.

These are the best grades the school's students have received in recent years, said Student Activities Director Jennifer Grace, who will help coordinate a Renaissance Assembly on March 17 to honor the students.
