Special Report / The Democratic Presidential Debate

Absentee Ballots Still Available

March 02, 2000

The registrar-recorder / county clerk's office in Norwalk will open today to give absentee ballots to voters who will be unable to get to a polling place Tuesday. The office, at 12400 Imperial Highway, Room 3002, will be open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

If voters cannot pick up a ballot in person, they can designate someone to do so. In such cases, voters must provide a written, signed statement requesting that a ballot be given to the representative, who must be named in the request.

The marked ballot must be returned by the voter or the representative to the Norwalk office or to any polling place in Los Angeles County by 8 p.m. Tuesday, election day.

For more information, call the Document Receipt and Absent Voting Section at (562) 466-1323 between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. For information in Chinese, Japanese, Tagalog, Vietnamese, Korean or Spanish, call (800) 481-8683.
