Logeman's 66 Leads Oak Park to Victory

James Logeman of Oak Park High shot a three-under-par 66 on Wednesday at Los Robles Golf Course in Thousand Oaks to lead the Eagles to a nonleague victory over perennial powers Westlake and Agoura.

Logeman, who reached the Southern Section individual championships last season, reached five-under on the back nine for the Eagles, whose 373 total defeated Westlake (3-1) by 10 strokes.

Agoura (0-4) finished at 411.


El Camino Real 16, Monroe 0--Stephanie Frasco and Melissa Coogan combined on a perfect game for the defending City Section champion Conquistadores (1-0) in a nonleague game at Monroe (0-1).

Frasco pitched four innings with four strikeouts, and Coogan struck out six in three innings.

Coogan had four hits, including a grand slam, and five runs batted in.

Birmingham 11, Sherman Oaks CES 1--Melissa Santana pitched a no-hitter, struck out 10 and had two hits, three RBIs and three steals for the Patriots in a nonleague game at Birmingham.

Kennedy 2, Granada Hills 1--Monique Acedo's two-run home run broke a scoreless tie in the sixth at Granada Hills.

Ryane Montes pitched a four-hitter, struck out seven, walked one and hit a batter for Kennedy.

North Hollywood 7, Palisades 3--Sara Pessagno had 11 strikeouts, Rebecca Fogel had two hits and the Huskies (1-1) won a nonleague game at North Hollywood.


Newbury Park 10, Nordhoff 8--Brian McGee clinched the victory for the Panthers (1-1) when he defeated Sean McCullough, 7-6 (10-8), in the final set of a nonleague match at Libby Park in Ojai.

Had McCullough defeated McGee, who was 3-0 in singles play, Nordhoff (0-1) would have won the match on total games.


Royal def. Harvard-Westlake, 16-14, 15-7, 15-12--Casey Wilkinson had 12 kills and Bart Kowalski had 37 assists for the Highlanders in a nonleague opener at Royal.
