The Los Angeles Regional Technology Alliance and the Japan External Trade Organization, also known by those handy acronyms LARTA and JETRO, are sponsoring a conference Thursday for entrepreneurs in the Internet and wireless space--or those who want to be.

People from dot-coms and consultants will discuss trends in the Internet/wireless communications markets. Attendees will learn how to develop pitches for a "motivated" audience (read: wealthy investors). Keynote speaker is Paul Lio, chief technology officer of Matsushita USA. He's going to talk about digital videodiscs.
