Brea

March 15, 2000|David Ryan, (714) 520-2511

The City Council recently voted to pay a design firm about $10,000 to create a look for new city banners to be placed at the Civic Center, the Brea Art Gallery and to announce the upcoming farmers market planned at the Promenade. But council members decided against giving Pasadena-based Hunt Design an additional $15,000 to work on welcome signs at Brea's main entrances.

It's all part of a two-part plan to spice up the facade of the city and make sure parts of Brea are easily identifiable to residents, workers and shoppers.

Phase 1 is complete, with signs identifying the downtown. Phase 2 would have the Civic Center's signs updated and place new markers at the Curtis Theatre, the Brea Art Gallery and the farmers market.
