Coach Bobby Braswell of Cal State Northridge met Thursday with Mitch Barnhart, athletic director at Oregon State, to discuss the possibility of becoming the Beavers' next men's basketball coach.
Braswell was not offered a position but said it was "a good meeting." He declined further comment.
Barnhart, who Sunday fired Eddie Payne after five losing seasons, traveled Thursday to Northridge to meet with Braswell. Cal State Fullerton also has contacted Northridge about interviewing Braswell.
Braswell led Northridge to a 20-10 record this season and the championship game of the Big Sky Conference tournament. His record is 65-53 in four seasons at Northridge.
