The City Council agreed to consider having a youth advisory board after nearly 20 Dana Hills High School students stood before a packed audience Tuesday and asked to be given a larger say in city decisions.

The teenagers are hoping their committee will become involved in volunteering for city projects and making a positive change within the community.

The council will discuss the youth committee in May. Mayor Mimi Walters directed Councilwomen Cassie DeYoung and Linda Lindholm to meet with the committee before then to gain better insight into their mission.
