The City Council recently approved an ordinance that places stiffer restrictions on street vendors in residential neighborhoods.

The ordinance prohibits the vendors from parking their vehicles facing the wrong direction on a residential street or blocking a driveway while doing business. Vendors are not allowed within 500 feet of a school and are required to show proof of at least $500,000 in insurance.
