Santana's Still Tops, but Sisqo's Gaining

March 25, 2000|GEOFF BOUCHER

Santana's "Supernatural" is still tops with Southern California album buyers, but Dru Hill alumnus Sisqo and his solo debut disc, "Unleash the Dragon," are climbing fast. The 22-year-old singer's album moves up three notches to No. 3 this week. Nationally, "Unleash the Dragon" sits at No. 2 on the album charts, but he was denied that spot here by longtime local star Dr. Dre, whose "Dr. Dre 2001" has been strong and steady in sales. Some other home-grown rap heroes, Snoop Dogg and the Eastsidaz of Long Beach, climb back into the Top 10 this week as well.
