SEASON AT A GLANCE: Hackett, the defending City Section pole vault champion, was slowed by a back injury in February but raised his school record to 16 feet in winning the Santa Barbara Easter Relays at Santa Barbara City College on Saturday.

He cleared 14-6, 15-0, 15-6 and 16-0 before missing three times at a meet-record 16-3. "It was real exciting," Hackett said. "I definitely think I can go higher."
