Residents voiced concern and frustration Tuesday after city staff decided to give the developer of a Wienerschnitzel restaurant an additional two weeks to make changes before a public hearing is conducted on the project.

The Planning Commission was scheduled to vote Tuesday on whether to permit the fast-food, drive-through restaurant at 500 W. Chapman Ave. The owners, who have sought city approval since November, recently redesigned the project after earlier plans were denied by the City Council.

"We're getting jerked around here," said Olga Luquin, a resident who opposes the restaurant. "I've been getting people informed about the issue . . . and then the city decides to give them another two weeks."

Luquin said she believes increased traffic would be a hazard.
