Developers will have to fork over more money for local schools if they want to build in Brea.

The Brea Olinda School District raised the fees it charges developers to cover the costs of accommodating new students coming from new homes.

The school board voted unanimously this week to increase the fees collected from residential developers from $1.95 to $2.05 per square foot. Commercial development would be assessed 33 cents per square foot, up from 31 cents.
