The Orange County Water District, based in Fountain Valley, approved a plan to join a team of local government agencies in developing a recovery plan for the Santa Ana sucker fish, recently listed as a threatened species.

The study will cost about $125,000 a year and will last five years. The water district will contribute $20,000 each year and will manage the project fund.
