* Good Junk--In the spirit of a charitable secondhand store, the Music Academy of the West in Montecito offers its annual May Madness rummage sale fund-raiser Saturday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event, "Santa Barbara: Recycling Its Treasures," will offer artworks, furniture, books, rugs, sporting goods, clothes and an array of odds and ends. Proceeds benefit the school's well-regarded summer program and music festival. The campus is at 1070 Fairway Road. * Entomology--The Santa Barbara Botanic Garden will open David Roger's traveling sculpture exhibit, "Big Bugs," Saturday. The larger-than-life creatures are crafted from carved wood, willow branches, bark and dried tree limbs. Included: an 18-foot-tall praying mantis, a dragonfly with a 17-foot wingspan and a spider's 15-foot web. Through July 31. * Concert-Evensong--Mahlon E. Balderston, professor of music emeritus at Santa Barbara City College, will perform a program of organ masterworks Sunday at Trinity Episcopal Church. The concert, which will be followed by a Santa Barbara Boys Choir performance, begins at 3:30 p.m. The church is at 1500 State St., Santa Barbara. Freewill offering. 965-7419.

* Indonesian--UC Santa Barbara's MultiCultural Center will present "An Evening of Indonesian Music and Dance" on Tuesday. Sri Susilowati will stage contemporary dance numbers along with traditional works from Javanese, Balinese and other cultures. Susilowati will be accompanied by virtuoso bamboo flutist Burhan Dukarma. Also on tap, Pusaka Sunda, a West Javanese gamelan group. Show time: 8 p.m. $12 general; $6 students. 893-3535.

* Classical--The well-regarded Rossetti String Quartet will perform Tuesday at UC Santa Barbara's Campbell Hall. Program: works by Mendelssohn, Kodaly and Dvorak. The concert will begin at 8 p.m. $14-$20. 893-3535.
