The City Council has approved a $181,000 renovation of City Hall, which will include the installation of wheelchair-accessible bathrooms and a new trailer with a meeting room and restrooms.

The remodeling is scheduled to begin Oct. 1 and be completed Dec. 1. The bathrooms are necessary for the city to comply with the Americans With Disabilities Act.

The project will cost an estimated $15,000 more than is available in this year's city budget. The city will have to use money from next year's budget.

"It's really an upgrade to adhere to the law," Mayor Collene Campbell said.
