Emergent in $1.2-Million Deal With Major Telecom Firm

May 11, 2000

Emergent Information Technologies Inc., formerly SM&A Corp., said Wednesday that a major telecommunications company has purchased licenses for Emergent programs that manage costs and help carry traffic over lines efficiently.

The Newport Beach company would not name the customer but said the contract is worth $1.2 million.

Emergent, an information technology company, said in a press release that installation is expected to be completed this year.

The company's BillTamer program is a telecommunications cost-management software and its NetTamer program is a tool that evaluates network usage and calculates optimal trunk sizes needed to carry access traffic at a minimum cost.
