* Interim Services Inc., the nation's fifth-largest private employer, is changing its name to Spherion to reflect a new corporate identity and strategy. The Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based staffing company acknowledged that the word "Spherion" can't be found in any dictionary but was coined to reflect "the company's new, modern, consultative identity and is symbolic in validating that the company has entered new space." Spherion employs about 600,000 people and generated $3.8 billion in revenue last year.
