The plaza in Santa Fe, N.M., hosts its annual Indian Market highlighting Native American art Aug. 19 and 20. Artists from throughout the United States gather to show and sell their creations: handcrafted jewelry, pottery, weaving, sculptures, kachina dolls and photography. Aventura Artistica will sponsor an eight-day tour of New Mexico Aug. 18 to 25.

Guests will have time to browse the Indian Market on their own, see a performance by the Santa Fe Opera, participate in a cooking class, observe the stars at an observatory and visit the Puye cliffs. Guests will stay five nights in Santa Fe and two nights in Taos.

Cost: $975 per person, double occupancy, including land transportation, lodging, two meals daily, guides, entrance fees, opera tickets and gratuities. Transportation to New Mexico is extra.

Germany: Autumn

Visit the northern and eastern sections of Germany while the weather is still mild and children have gone back to school on a trip that runs from Sept. 18 to Oct. 2. Places visited include Hamburg, the island of Rugen, a nature park in the Mecklenburg region, Berlin, Dresden, Weimar, Bamberg and the walled medieval town of Rothenburg.Hotel stays are two or three nights at each stop. Travel is by motor coach, with beverages served on board.

Branson: Welk Reunion

More than 40 "Lawrence Welk Show" stars and musicians will give a reunion performance at the Champagne Theater in Branson, one of many shows travelers will see on a four-night trip to Missouri. The Travel Store in Brentwood is hosting the tour, which runs Sept. 1 to 5.

Besides the Welk Show, guests will see shows by the Osmond Brothers, comic Yakov Smirnoff, musician/comedian Jim Stafford and the Shoji Tabuchi Show. A visit to Silver Dollar City is included.

Cost: $1,299 per person, double occupancy, including round-trip air fare from Los Angeles, hotel, continental breakfasts and dinners, admissions to shows and sightseeing activities.
