It's a Gal Thing: "Democratic strategists say the gender gap that once helped Democrats has disappeared. They can't figure out why Al Gore doesn't do as well with women as Bill Clinton. The best guess is women always go for the bachelor." (Argus Hamilton)

Not Buying It: "Darva Conger [the 'Who Wants to Marry a Multi-Millionaire?' bride] is posing in Playboy. 'Multi-Millionaire' groom Rick Rockwell said he will look at Darva's nude photos in Playboy, but he's not going to buy the magazine. That's the good thing about working at the AM/PM Minimart. You get to look at the magazines, [but] you don't actually have to pay for them." (Jay Leno)

A Few Restrictions: "President Clinton said life in the White House has been good for his marriage. . . . He says that until Hillary embarked on her Senate campaign, they had actually spent more time together than they did before coming to the White House. Sure, presidents just can't go wandering off to a motel in the middle of the night." (Daily Scoop)

Making a Case: "A former contestant on 'Who Wants to Be a Millionaire' is suing the show for $2 million. He claims that he can't sleep at night after he missed what he says was an ambiguous question. Apparently, Regis knew he was going to be a pain . . . when, for his lifeline, he asked to phone his attorney." (Conan O'Brien)

The Reel Deal: "Steven Spielberg agreed to put his name on the new Lego digital movie-making kit for children. His motives are transparent. It's his goal to one day have an entire film crew that will work for play dough." (Hamilton)
